Description

HealthspanSF is San Francisco's premier Medicine 3.0 concierge internal medicine practice, founded by Dr. Patrick Sanger — MD, PhD — to help patients prevent chronic disease and maximize the years they are healthy enough to achieve their goals. Unlike conventional primary care, Dr. Sanger combines evidence-based medicine with cutting-edge longevity tools — continuous glucose monitors, DEXA body composition scans, VO2max testing, AI-based coronary CT angiography, whole genome sequencing, and a custom 250-data-point healthspan tracking platform — to build a quantitative, complete picture of each patient's health. Located at 1286 Sanchez St, Suite A in San Francisco's Noe Valley neighborhood, HealthspanSF offers concierge primary care in person and a telemedicine-based Healthspan Program for patients throughout California and New York.

About the Physician

Dr. Sanger trained at Yale, the University of Washington, and UCSF Internal Medicine, earning both an MD and a PhD in biomedical informatics. He completed a translational science fellowship at the National Institutes of Health and holds board certification in clinical informatics — a rare combination equipping him to critically evaluate the data and technology shaping modern longevity medicine. Inspired by the Medicine 3.0 philosophy, Dr. Sanger practices a "slow medicine" approach that prioritizes listening, root cause identification, and proactive prevention of the five leading drivers of death and disability: cardiovascular disease, cancer, neurodegenerative disease, metabolic disease, and emotional health. He can prescribe evidence-informed interventions — including GLP-1 agonists (Zepbound, Wegovy) and geroprotective agents such as rapamycin — and coordinate seamlessly with specialists to keep care comprehensive and unified.

Services Offered

  • Concierge Primary Care — full-spectrum internal medicine for SF Bay Area patients, in-person and telemedicine, with same-week availability and direct physician access.
  • Healthspan Program — structured 6–8 visit annual program targeting all five major chronic disease drivers, available via telemedicine in California and New York.
  • Cardiovascular Disease Prevention — lipidology, Cleerly AI coronary CT angiography, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring patch, and preventive cardiology coordination.
  • Metabolic Health & Weight Optimization — CGM analysis, insulin resistance reversal, and GLP-1 agonist prescribing (Zepbound, Wegovy) where appropriate.
  • Cancer Prevention & Early Detection — Grail Galleri multi-cancer early detection test and Prenuvo whole-body MRI screening.
  • Body Composition & Fitness Assessment — DEXA scan, VO2max testing, strength metrics, and personalized exercise prescription for longevity.
  • Cognitive & Brain Health — neurodegenerative disease prevention strategies, EEG-based at-home sleep study, and sleep optimization.
  • Genomics & Precision Medicine — whole genome sequencing, evidence-informed supplement protocols, and geroprotective medicine including rapamycin.
  • Wearables & Continuous Monitoring — integration of CGM, fitness wearables, and a 250-data-point tracking platform with age-adjusted benchmarks and dashboards.

What to Expect

The Healthspan Program begins with a 90-minute initial consultation to establish priorities and baseline data. Subsequent visits (30–60 minutes) systematically address each healthspan domain with data collected in advance. HealthspanSF is out-of-network; superbills are provided for PPO insurance. To get started, email hello@healthspansf.org, call (415) 580-0855, or schedule a complimentary Meet & Greet consultation at healthspansf.org.
